Out of the Norm...

So I have a quick post for everyone tonight.

I am going to show you a card I made for a few challenges :

I went for the felt flower ribbon and a felt leaf detail.

Not my usual coloring style - but I was in the mood for something different.
And the sentiment is one of my favourites.

Well, I gotta run but thanks for checking out my card.
I'm hoping to be back tomorrow to have a few more cards to share.

Thanks for popping by!!

Summertime In Winter

Evening Ladies,

Tonight I have a card to show you that is very bright and cheery.
This week over at Copic Oz they have challenged us to create a 'Summertime" card using yellows and greens. I was thrilled to join in. Here on the west coast of Canada - we are full swing into winter - and with Christmas having just passed - a summertime inspired card is just what I needed.

I decided to use this little cute bear holding an ice cream. Ice cream totally reminds me of summer. (It's one of my daughters favorite treats) The copics I used for the bear are : Y32, Y35 AND Y38. The ice cream is a combo of : YG11, YG13 & YG63 YG67 (with a little touch of RV29)

I also used the current challenge over at : CPS
which is to pick a past sketch a create a new project.
I chose CPS #120

Hope you enjoy this Sunshiny Inspiration!!

Thanks, Alexis

Mojo Monday Creation

Hello fellow crafters!!

I have a card to show you today that I love. This is the first time that I have inked up this little cutie from Whippersnapper and the first time that I have used this paper from MME called Fine and Dandy.
Love getting to use new products! Yeah!!
And I even managed to incorporate the current sketch over at the Mojo Monday Blog!!
So, the reasoning for my card is obviously not so good. The lady that I work with; fell on Christmas Eve and broke her hip. OUCH!! And I am going to visit her today. I wanted to make a special card to show her how much she will be missed at work, while she is off. I know she'll love it and I hope she has a speedy recovery because we already miss her a lot!!

Hope you like...

Merry Christmas!!

Happy Holidays Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday full of laughter and cheer. We certainly did! I was spoiled this year with a new camera, (yes another!!) and a new Cricut cartridge (that I can't wait to use!!) Here are some photos of my daughter and her favourite present :

Yep, my parents got her a keyboard. She loves it!! She played all day yesterday and actually learned 2 songs!! Yeah for her. In the new year we will put her in lessons. She can't wait.

Here is a picture of her practicing with her dad.

And the last photo is of our crazy tree. Christmas Eve. And this was us - attempting to go "light" this Christmas!! A colosal fail!! Oooppss.

But all was merry and bright!! Wishing all of you a happy holidays and a great new year!! All the best for all of you in 2011.

Birthday Boys

Happy Saturday Everyone,

I have been up to my ears in Christmas cards lately so this mornings craft session was a much needed break. This morning I have 2 cards to show you. My mom asked me if I could make her a few cards to give to my brothers for their birthdays.
(I know  - December birthdays - uggg)

So here is what I came up with :
This first one is for my brother, Eli.
I used the challenge from A Sketch For You To Try
This week they wanted for us to pick a fave sketch from the past and run with it. I chose this sketch  :

And my favorite detail on the card :

I love these large grommets but I don't use them very often because I have to pull out a few tools and take the card outside to wack it on the hard concrete...
they are just kind of fussy. But I do love them!!

And for my other brother, I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges
(a bit tweeked)

My brother is quite the handy man and just helped my parents reno their kitchen so I know this card will be a hit.
Here's a close-up of the Copic coloring

Okay well, we are off to the Disney On Ice and then on to my husband's mom's house to visit a new edition to our family.
(My husband's cousin just had their first baby, and we haven't met her yet, so I'm so excited - love babies) Gotta run,
Have a great weekend.
